DESCRIPTION:Join Westford Conservation Trust director Gerry DiBello for a hike through this lovely\nconservation land adjacent to Greystone Pond. \nWear sturdy footwear appropriate to the weather. Area is mostly flat but uneven. \nThis walk is appropriate for all ages\, but area is not suitable for strollers. Sociable dogs on leash welcome. \nPark at the Rita Miller School parking lot\, 1 Mitchell Way\, Westford.¬† Gerry will lead the group from there as the Greystone parking area will be busy with cars for that morning’s pickleball games. \nWalk is free of charge and no sign-up is required. Join Jonathan Kranz as he teaches safe and responsible foraging methods. Along the way\, discover the most delectable edibles\, the deadliest toxics\, and simply the most beautiful mushrooms our region of New England can provide. You’ll learn the basics of identification\, the strange lifestyles of fungi\, and the tips and secrets to happy mushroom hunting. \nJonathan Kranz is a MA Audubon Certified Field Naturalist who leads mushroom walks and talks for libraries\, land trusts\, clubs\, and other interest groups in southern New England. He currently serves as vice president of the oldest mushroom club in North America\, the Boston Mycological Club\, and is a board member of the Pioneer Valley Mycological Association.
