Thanks so much for all who attended our annual trust meeting!
Our guest speaker Amy Meltzer shared some wonderful info about Pollinators and Gardening for Biodiversity with native plants.
Thanks to Amy Meltzer of the Massachusetts Pollinator Network for providing the following information:
Where to Do Native Plant Research
Native Plant Trust Plant Finder
https://plantfinder.nativeplanttrust.org/Plant-Search
Excellent search tool. Experiment with how many
variables you enter.
Prairie Moon Nursery https://www.prairiemoon.com/
Excellent for looking up plants. Get pictures,
descriptions, cultural info, native geographical
location, ecological benefits. Great search terms.
Ladybird Johnson Wildflower Center
LBJWC-Home
Good photos and descriptions, cultural
requirements. Prairie Moon is more accurate for
bloom time in our location.

Guest Speaker Amy Meltzer Will Present: Gardening for Biodiversity with Native Plants: Providing Habitat for Pollinators, Birds, and Other Essential Wildlife
Amy will focus on the current biodiversity crisis; the evolutionary history among native plants, insects, birds and fungi, and how these interdependent relationships among diverse species are necessary for their survival. She will discuss how growing native plants and using ecological landscape practices can simultaneously reverse biodiversity loss, increase resilience in our landscapes, and slow climate change – all while creating a beautiful garden! A question and answer session follow’s her presentation.
Amy Meltzer is co-chair of the steering committee of the Mass Pollinator Network. She is an active member of Grow Native Massachusetts and is on the Research Team of Elders Climate Action. Amy has been researching and growing native plants for more than twelve years.
